The alliance between the two families was formed about 1850, when two brothers, descendants of James Flack, married sisters, descendants of Andrew Newcomb. WebWhen saxophonist Rahsaan Roland Kirk drew closer to late-‘60s R&B trends, he had the fortune of being on Atlantic Records—a label that actually recorded R&B. The warmth of Kirk's recordings from this period were due in part to the ears of a producer who could also record the likes of Roberta Flack.
